Serving

Why is involvement in the local church important for growing in my relationship with God?

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” - Hebrews 10: 23-15

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

Jesus gave His followers the command to go and make followers (disciples, students, learners) of Himself. When followers gather together, they are the Church. The church is not the building but the people who gather together to learn, worship, give, and serve Christ.

Gathering on Sundays is to worship God together, to listen to the Word of God together, to encourage one another, and to be strengthened in our faith as we walk with Christ together.

Church attendance does not make you a better Christian. Attending church is about personal and corporate strength as we follow Jesus.

If you’ve been attending 3TwentyOne for a while, perhaps the next step for you is to get involved with a serving team.
